We enjoyed another Mingei art excursion late Jan. 2013 starting with a visit to the Palm Springs Art Museum which has collections of contemporary art, photography, glass and Native American and Western Art. The focus was to see the work of Humbert and Fernando Campana featuring the use of ordinary materials like cardboard, rope and fabric in making furniture.  A lunch was served in an outdoor sculpture garden.

A stop was made in Riverside to visit the historic Mission Inn for a tour of the property.  The Inn  features art and architecture from various historic periods, revivals influences and styles including the regions only hotel chapel.  It was originally built in 1876 as a 2 room guesthouse and has become a jewel occupying an entire city block. Frank Miller was master of the inn from about 1900 until 1935
